Moving wordpress from localhost to a different domain
If you ever want to move your local development wordpress site on to a production server . . . in other words, if you have been working on a wordpress site on a local server like XAMPP on localhost and after completion you want to move it to a remote server on the internet . . . the process is not so simple nor straightforward . . . at least not as simple as in Joomla.

I, despite being quite familiar with Joomla, WordPress, MySQL and server administration ran up against quite a few glitches which were simply not explained anywhere and it took me a lot of searching online and collecting small tips from many of the hundreds of blogs and articles online about this to finally be able to have it working on the new server. Wasted a couple of hours . . . so I’ll try to save yours (and mine the next time around).
